Janay Lewis discovered her passion for styling hair at the age of eight and landed her first client at the age of twelve. From that moment on, she knew that the beauty industry would be a long-term career path in which would allow her to use her creativity to open up many exciting opportunities in the future. A few years after she graduated from cosmetology school, she decided to take a leap of faith and move to Houston, Texas with her son and only five hundred and ninety eight dollars to start her life over.
For the first year, she worked as a hairstylist at hair salon to learn the skills it takes to become a professional, and also learned how to properly run a business. Shortly after, she decided to quit her job to focus on building her brand, Gemini Tresses, and has been working independently ever since. Her journey was not an easy one, but it was worth taking a risk.
Her God-given talents landed her the opportunity to work as a celebrity hairstylist, as well as top production companies such as ESPN Magazine, E! News, Beats By Dre & many others!
