I have been doing electrolysis in Virginia Beach since 1985 and have helped hundreds of people achieve permanent hair removal. I first visited an electrologist myself when I was 19 years old. Having electrolysis freed me of my hair problem and sparked my interest in helping other people who were dealing with the same affliction. I am blessed to be doing just that!
I promise that I will treat you as I would like to be treated. Feel free to call me for information and/or come in for a Free Consultation and Demonstration. In particular, I will explain why I most often use the Blend method of electrolysis to remove your hair. After the consultation, I will remove some hair so you will know what to expect.

Services
Permanently removing hair from a region even as small as a chin or upper lip takes a commitment of both time and money.
The major reason is that each hair is treated individually and the hairs in the targeted area are in different stages of growth.
Before you commit to a series of treatments, I will provide a free consultation where I examine the area(s) to be treated and describe the process of electrolysis in detail.
Then, I will demonstrate the process on some of your unwanted hair so that you will know what to expect!

At the base of each hair follicle is a dermal papilla - a large structure of connective tissue, blood vessels and "hair germ cells" lying beneath the hair root.
Since each hair relies on a dermal papilla to provide nourishment, the destruction of the papilla leads to the permanently removal of the hair from that follicle.
In thermolysis, the papilla is destroyed by the heat produced with a "microwave like" cooking of the connective tissue.
Laser hair removal attempts to destroy the papilla with selective photothermolysis in which the necessary heat is produced by the melanin absorbing the energy of the laser light.

An electrology client might discover hair in a treated area due to real or perceived re-growth.
The hair is treated during the telogen phase of hair growth when the papilla is not attached to the hair.
The follicle is not straight, and the current does not reach the papilla during thermolysis.
The Blend method of electrolysis which combines chemical treatment with heat treatment of the papilla leads to lower re-growth rates since non-straight follicles are more effectively treated.
Re-treatment with the Blend is very effective in killing the papilla and permanently removing the hair.
