Located at 976 Poplar Street, Da1Above is nestled on a quiet street in the historical Goldenberg Building in Santa Clara, California. Da1Above is a salon with an intimate and personal environment with the focus on our client. We specialize in ethnic hair but our clientele is diverse with all hair types. Her vision for "Da 1 Above" started in 1999.
She saw an environment where the needs of the whole person could be met, "A Place of Peace". Her clientele would be diverse. Her aunt (Freddie Smith, of World Vision College of Cosmetology) owned 3 beauty colleges, and inspired Clyther to go to cosmetology school. Going to school part time while working in the tech industry proved challenging, so she began school full time to follow her vision.
While on her first job, she met Albert Clayton, who has become her mentor, her brother, her friend, her confidant, and has taught her the real meaning of healthy hair.
