My name is Nancy Metzger. I perform electrolysis as well as microdermabrasion. This site contains information about my practice, general questions about electrolysis and microdermabrasion and links for additional information about electrolysis. I've been a practicing electrologist for over 20 years and have been in business for myself for over 17 of those years.

I'm a certified professional electrologist which means I have taken and passed a national examination which covers general information about the different modalities of electrolysis, dermatology, endocrinology, electricity, sterilization and standard precautions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In order to maintain my credentials I must obtain 75 hours of continued education every 5 years to ensure practitioner competence while enhancing the quality of patient/client care through education.Located in Southwest Austin, I'm convenient to Lakeway, Lake Pointe, West Lake Hills and Bee Cave.
Services
Microdermabrasion uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin.
This skin exfoliation process reveals the new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.
The procedure is performed using a hand piece that the operator passes over the skin three times.
This evenly removes the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of skin.
The underlying epidermis is also stimulated by the abrasion and the vacuum.
This promotes the generation of new collagen, which thickens the dermis and improves resistance to the effects of aging.
Is electrolysis permanent?
Yes.
Unlike laser, which is approved for hair reduction, electrolysis is a proven method of permanent hair removal.
Can I have electrolysis if I have undergone laser hair removal?
Yes, those clients who have reached a point of diminishing returns or have grey or blonde hairs that do not respond to laser treatment can often complete clearance with electrolysis.
Many clients start with laser finish with electrolysis.
How long does it take to completely clear an area?
At any given time, only a certain percentage of hair follicles are active and can be treated.
